Located in Linwood, North Carolina between Lexington and Salisbury, our campground offers spacious full-hookup RV sites, peaceful wooded surroundings, and family-friendly amenities that make every visit comfortable.

Cross Winds Family Campground welcomes both overnight travelers and longer-term guests looking for a quiet and comfortable RV camping experience in North Carolina.

Our campground offers 100 spacious RV sites with full hookups, including both pull-through and back-in sites. Guests can choose between shaded sites tucked among the trees or open sites ideal for larger RVs and big rigs.

Guests also enjoy access to campground amenities such as the pool (seasonal), fishing pond, playground, bathhouse, laundry facilities, and recreation areas.

Reservations are recommended, especially during busy travel seasons.

Our campground layout provides excellent spacing between sites, allowing guests to enjoy privacy while still being close to shared amenities like the fishing pond, pool, recreation areas, and bathhouse.

Getting here is simple with these quick directions.

Cross Winds Family Campground is located conveniently between Lexington and Salisbury, North Carolina, making it an easy stop for travelers along Interstate 85.

From I-85 South :
Take Exit 84. At the stop sign, continue across Highway 150, then turn right onto Sowers Road. The campground entrance will be the first driveway on the right.
From I-85 North
Take Exit 84 and turn left at the stop sign. Cross over the interstate while moving into the left-hand turn lane. Turn left onto Wilcox Way (look for the blue campground sign). In about 2/10 mile, turn right onto Sowers Road. The campground entrance will be the first driveway on the right. If you have trouble finding us, please give us a call and we’ll be happy to help guide you in.

Helpful Information Before You Arrive
What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in and check-out times vary slightly depending on the day.

Monday – Saturday

Check-in: 12:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM

Sunday, Memorial Day & Labor Day

Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 2:00 PM

Early arrivals or late departures may be available for a $30 fee (cash).
Please contact the office if you need special arrangements.

Each campsite rate includes one RV unit and up to four people.

Additional guests are $5 per person per night, regardless of age. Tents require prior approval and an additional charge.

Yes! Cross Winds is a pet-friendly campground.

Pets must:

  • Remain on a leash
  • Be cleaned up after
  • Not be left unattended
  • Not disturb other guests

Pets are not permitted in buildings or the pool area.

Yes. Cross Winds offers large pull-through and back-in RV sites with full hookups and 30/50 amp electric service, making them suitable for large RVs and motorhomes.

Yes. For the safety of all guests, the speed limit throughout the campground is 9 MPH at all times.

Golf carts are allowed but must be:

  • Registered with campground staff
  • Covered by proof of insurance
  • Operated by someone with a valid driver’s license

For safety reasons, 4-wheelers and battery-powered children’s vehicles are not permitted.

The campground pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend through September 30th and is available for registered campers only.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcohol, smoking, or vaping are permitted in the pool area.

Guests may enjoy the stocked catch-and-release fishing pond.

  • A Fishing Pass is required
  • Catch and release only
  • Barbed hooks are not allowed
  • No swimming or boating in the pond
  • Dogs are not allowed in the pond

To maintain a relaxing environment, quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

If you need to cancel or modify a reservation, please call the front desk at (336) 853-4567.

  • Cancellations 7+ days before arrival: Refund minus a $25 service fee
  • Cancellations less than 7 days: Refund minus one night’s stay plus booking fee
  • Software booking fees are non-refundable

Camp Credit may also be available for qualifying cancellations.

All sites offer full hookups including water, sewer, Wi-Fi and 30/50 amp electric service.

Yes, guests have access to Wi-Fi during their stay.
