Campground Policy

At Cross Winds Family Campground, every reservation is important to us. We’re grateful you’ve chosen to stay with us and look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful campground in Linwood, North Carolina.

Our goal is to provide every guest with a relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable camping experience. To help ensure a safe and pleasant stay for all campers, we ask that guests review the following campground policies and guidelines before arriving.

These policies are designed to help protect our guests, preserve the campground, and maintain the friendly, family-oriented atmosphere that makes Cross Winds such a special place to stay.

Book Your Stay

Reservation & Payment
Policies

  • All reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted.
  • All online reservations are booked at the 50 AMP rate.
  • All reservations include a non-refundable software booking fee.
  • 30 AMP Sites: $53/night
  • 50 AMP Sites: $55/night
  • Rates include up to 4 guests per campsite.
  • Additional guests: $5 per person, per night.
  • Maximum occupancy is 6 people per campsite.
  • Maximum of 4 pets per campsite.
  • Reserve 1 week and receive the 7th night free.
  • All 7 nights must be booked and paid for at the same time.
  • Reservations longer than 2 weeks require management approval.
  • Group promo rates are available for reservations of 5 or more sites.
  • Guests must contact the front desk prior to booking for group rate information.
  • No additional discounts may be combined with group discounts.
  • Group discounts are not available during major holiday weekends.
  • Holiday weekends require a 2-night minimum stay.
  • No discounts apply during holidays.
  • No tent-only sites are available.
  • Tents are permitted only on RV sites with approval and an additional fee.

Check-In & Check-Out
Policies

  • Check-in: 12:00 PM
  • Check-out: 11:00 AM
  • Check-in: 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: 2:00 PM
  • Early arrivals and late departures may be available for a $30 cash fee.

Cancellation & Refund
Policies

  • Cancellation or reservation changes must be made by phone.
  • Email cancellation requests are not accepted.
  • Cancellations made 7 or more days before arrival: Refund less a $25 service fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival: Refund less one night’s stay plus booking fee.
  • Refunds typically process within 5–10 business days.
  • Camp Credit does not expire.
  • Guests must contact the front desk to redeem Camp Credit toward a future stay.
  • No refunds or Camp Credit are provided for early departures after check-in.
  • If reservation dates are shortened before arrival, Camp Credit may be issued for removed nights.
  • Software booking fees are non-refundable.
  • No refunds or credits are given due to weather or natural outdoor conditions.

Campsite & Guest
Policies

  • Daily rates include one camping unit and up to 4 guests per campsite.
  • Additional guests are $5 per person, per night.
  • Visitors must receive a Car Pass from campground staff.
  • All guests and visitors are expected to follow campground rules and respect campground staff, property, and fellow campers.

Vehicle & Traffic
Rules

  • Vehicles must remain parked within your assigned campsite.
  • Speed limit throughout the campground is 9 MPH.
  • 4-wheelers and battery-operated children's vehicles are prohibited.

Golf carts must:

  • Be registered with campground staff
  • Have proof of insurance
  • Be operated only by drivers with a valid driver’s license

Quiet Hours & Courtesy

  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Disturbing noise is prohibited at all times.

Campfire & Outdoor Safety

  • Fires may not be left unattended.
  • Fire rings may not be moved.
  • Fire rings may not be used as trash containers.
  • Cutting trees or limbs is prohibited.

Trash & Campground Cleanliness

  • Trash pickup occurs regularly throughout the campground.
  • All trash must be placed in designated trash cans.
  • Only bagged trash that fits within standard trash bags may be collected.

Children & Playground Safety

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times throughout the campground and recreation areas.

Pet
Policies

  • Pets must remain on a leash.
  • Owners must clean up after pets.
  • Pets may not be left unattended.
  • Excessive barking is not permitted.
  • Pets are prohibited inside buildings and pool areas.

Pool
Policies

  • Memorial Day Weekend through September 30th.
  • Pool access is for registered guests only.
  • No lifeguard is on duty.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
  • No outside guests allowed.
  • No pets, alcohol, smoking, or vaping permitted in the pool area.
  • Large floats, sport balls, and oversized water guns are prohibited.

Fishing Lake
Policies

  • Bill’s Lake is catch-and-release only.
  • Fishing Passes are required and available at the Farmhouse office.
  • No swimming or boating allowed.
  • Dogs may not enter the lake.
  • Barbed hooks are prohibited.
  • Ducks may only be fed at the lake area.

Alcohol, Firearms & Prohibited
Items

  • Public display of alcohol is prohibited.
  • Controlled substances, fireworks, explosives, and firearms are prohibited.
  • Discharging firearms is strictly prohibited.

Washing Vehicles & RVs

  • Prior approval and payment of a fee are required before washing vehicles, RVs, or campers.

Winter Camping

  • During winter months, guests are responsible for protecting their water hoses from freezing.

Right to Refuse
Service

Cross Winds Family Campground reserves the right to remove guests from the property without refund or Camp Credit for:
  • Failure to follow campground rules
  • Disrespect toward staff or guests
  • Damage to campground property
  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

Photography

Crosswinds Family Campground uses on-site candid photography for advertisements and promotions. Entrance onto this property constitutes permission to be photographed while on the premises and for any resulting photos to be used by Crosswinds Family Campground for lawful purposes without compensation or notification to the guest.

Damage / Loss

Registered guests will be liable for the full cost of any damage caused by the guest (or their visitors) to the property or facilities. Guests will also be charged for any items missing from rental units after checkout.

On Site Purchases

All items purchased within the campground are on a cash basis. This includes; ice, wood, propane, t-shirts, stickers, etc.
